Character Name: Trey Barton
Nickname(s): None.
Gender: Male
Birthdate: May 18th
Age: 25
Appearance: Hazel eyes, long dirty blonde hair that’s usually up in a bun, pale skin, light stubble. Full sleeve tattoos on both arms. Septum piercing. 6’1”. Usually wears a lot of black and grey, and always wears long sleeves.
Personality: Trey has lots of big dreams, but not a whole lot of plans to make them a reality. He relies on other people to work out the details while he provides the ideas. He’s not detail-oriented, and usually focuses on the bigger picture rather than the crucially important detail. He can’t work on his own, and needs to be surrounded by a group of people with the talents for organization that he lacks.
He has notebooks and notebooks full of ideas, many of them very good ideas, but he struggles to get his ideas out there in forms that other people can understand. He’s not particularly good at communication in general, and despite the fact that from his appearance you’d think he might be the confrontational sort, he’s really not, if he’s confronting someone he actually knows. He can confront strangers no problem, but when it comes to confronting friends and family he freezes up. Because of this, he’s often passive-aggressive, and rather than sitting down and having a conversation and clearing the air, he’ll drag things out for months on end.
He loves a good party, and lives up the sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll aspect, just because it’s fun. However, he knows when it’s time to stop, and is ready to settle down whenever it becomes necessary. He’s typically the mom friend who shuts everybody down when they start getting a little bit too drunk and a little out of hand. He’s sensible, and has a good head on his shoulders during a crisis.
He’s not good at making friends, and has a serious case of resting bitch face, but if anyone approaches him, they’ll find that he’s friendly enough, and always down to get together and jam, or go out and have a good time.
He’s a romantic at heart, and the dozens of love songs scattered throughout his notebooks are proof enough of that. He still thinks about Kay, even though it’s been five years since they were together. A lot of his best songs are about her, both love songs and songs about how heartbroken he is over her. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, and isn’t at all subtle about how he feels. If he likes you, you’ll know it, and if he doesn’t like you, you’ll know that too. If he’s sad, he’ll cry, if he’s angry he’ll give you the cold shoulder, if he’s happy he’ll smile.
Positive Traits: Creative, sensible, romantic.
Negative Traits: Not good at communicating, not good at organization, emotional
Sexuality: Straight.
Hobbies: Playing guitar, drinking, writing songs, painting, motorcycle riding.
Occupation: Guitarist in a band.
Background: Trey has been full of big dreams since he was young. He’s always dreamed of making it, of being recognized for his art, although when he was a child he always thought he would be a painter. In high school, he abandoned the visual arts for music, and started trying to put together a band, believing that would be his ticket to success. He was in many bands over the years, but none of them were even remotely successful.
Then he met Kay Andrews, and everything changed. She was exactly what his band needed. She was just what he needed, too. He had a good time corrupting her, and over time as they spent time together he fell hopelessly for her. And she got them attention. Unfortunately, that attention wasn’t for the whole band, just for Kay. She left the band to become a solo artist, leaving them high and dry a thousand miles from home without a lead singer. And without her they couldn’t continue to perform in order to earn gas money to make their way back home. The band fell apart within days, sold off the van and their gear, and Trey managed to get a job in retail to support himself in his new city. He intended to go back to school and get a degree to settle down, but then he met a drummer looking to form a band at a record store, and the rest is history. Trey’s new band is on it’s way up, and they’ve attracted the attention of North Star Records. But Trey hasn’t forgotten about Kay and how she was stolen from them…
