RULES

North Star Records is a music-industry themed RP set in modern day Los Angeles, which focuses on artists, executives, managers, crew, and other people affiliated with the fictional record label North Star Records.

1. Be a good person and be respectful to others. Be nice to your fellow role players OOC, and don’t harass, call names, or use slurs. We allow general swearing in both IC and OOC sections, however. We have a zero-tolerance policy for OOC bullying.
2. Remember that people have busy schedules, and they may take some time to get back to you. It’s alright to check in with your partner if it’s been a few days, but be respectful.
3. The rules may change at any time at moderator discretion. All rule changes will be announced when they are enacted.
4. No powerplaying, godmodding or meta-gaming.
5. Keep it PG-13, in accordance with the site-wide rules. Anything sexual must be fade to black.
6. We ask that you write at least two long paragraphs or three slightly shorter posts per in character post. Do your best to use proper grammar and spelling. Mistakes are understood but there is no excuse not to put in effort. We consider ourselves literate to advanced literate.
7. Sections of the board are marked either OOC or IC. Use the correct accounts when posting in these areas.
8. We require registering with a OOC username, which can be anything within reason, to use in sections marked OOC and for the purposes of keeping a roster. You should also make your application using this username. For each character you create who is accepted you must register another account with the format (FIRSTNAME LASTNAME) to use in IC threads.
9. Once you’ve registered with your OOC username, feel free to introduce yourself in the introductions section of our chat board.
10. The chatbox is OOC.
11. Please read the information thread in this board, which goes over setting and plot, before applying.
12. The application can be found in the application section, along with specific restrictions on character creation. After you complete it, post your application as a thread in the forum for moderator approval.
13. As soon as your application is approved, you can jump right into RP, and either make your own thread or join an open thread.
14. Label your threads appropriately by putting the correct label in parentheses in the title. An open thread is for anyone to join, a private thread is for a specific partner, a solo thread is just for you, trigger means that your thread may contain triggering content such as violence, drugs, or other sensitive topics, and complete means that the thread is finished.
15. The IC date and time on which the thread occurs should be on the top of the first post in the thread, and it should appear in any other post where the date changes. You can participate in multiple threads at once, as long as they don’t overlap in time. For example, you can participate in three threads, one occurring on January 3rd, one in the morning on the 4th, and one in the evening on the 4th, but you can’t participate in two threads in the evening on the 4th.
16. There is no character limit per member, although the mods may decline to approve another application by a player who isn’t active with the characters they already have.
17. We will not delete accounts for any reason except poor behavior, unless requested by the player.
18. This is a modern world, realistic, roleplay, and while liberties are permitted, do your best to be accurate.
